Meet Your Coach
I didn’t come to this work through theory alone.
I’m Charly - a coach, writer, former midwife, mother, partner, perpetual question asker and someone who has rebuilt her life more than once.
I’ve known what it is to have a life that is incredibly full and still wonder where I have gone within it. To love much of what I have and still want something more. To change my mind. To get things wrong. Follow things that lead nowhere. Discover things I wasn’t looking for.
And increasingly I’ve become fascinated by a different question:
What makes the difference between having a life and experiencing ourselves participating in it?
That question become The Dance - the developing body of thought behind Nova Alba.
I’m interested in what happens when we pay attention to how you actually meet your life: What affects you, what brings different parts of you forward, where you disappear into function, and what happens when you put a different move into The Dance.
I won’t tell you who you are.
And I don’t believe there is one perfectly singular version of you buried underneath everything waiting to be discovered. I believe we are gloriously messy, multifaceted humans.
More myself. Less defined.
That’s increasingly how I understand my own development.
Our work will make room for complexity. For contradiction. For humour. For anger. For changing your mind. For not knowing. For the parts that don’t fit neatly together.
I’ll Listen carefully, ask questions. I’ll notice patterns. I’ll challenge you when it seems useful. I’ll offer what I see, and you get to decide whether it fits.
Your experience belongs to you.
And yes there is some proper grown up stuff behind all of this!
My professional life has taken me through healthcare, regulation and inspection as well as coaching - work that has required curiosity, evidence, integrity and the ability to have difficult conversations.
I hold an undergraduate degree, a postgraduate diploma and completed my coaching training through and ICF- accredited transformational coaching programme,
I bring all of that with me.
But I also bring the woman who paints, writes, dances, thinks to much, changes her mind, laughs at inappropriate moments, gets things wrong and remains curious about what it means to be a human having a life.
You don’t need to arrive here knowing who you’re supposed to become.
We can start with where you are.

My Approach
We begin with the life you are actually living
We notice what affects you
What brings something in you forward
Where you feel present - and where you disappear into function
Then we explore what happens when you begin to participate differently.
Not to find a fixed version of yourself - but to more fully inhabit your life.
Who This is For
You have built a life.
There may be much in it you love.
And yet somewhere amongst the everyday, you have become difficult to find.
You are ready to participate in life.
To notice what affects you.
To discover what brings a sense of feeling alive forward in you.
To have more say in what comes next.
You want a life that has room for you in it.
